Logging More Than Trees

Dakota Bear Sanctuary - We're Logging More Than Our Old-Growth Trees.
Old-growth forests provide a safe sanctuary for black bears in our province. Unlike new-growth trees, the bases of old-growth trees make perfect bear dens. Dakota Bear Sanctuary is an ancient forest that is home to populations of black bears that need it to survive. If these trees are logged, the black bears will go with them. The Living Forest Institute and The Only Animal are doing their best to stop it.
With the help of 123 West, The Only Animal and Living Forest Institute we created these images to try to save the Dakota Bear Sanctuary. It has since been permanently protected so that the ancient forest along with the bears who live within it can continue to enjoy a peaceful life. A big environmental win for BC!
